Successful training session on Emotion Coaching

45 teachers attended a successful training session on Emotion Coaching delivered by Felicia Wood from KCA on 27/06/17 at the Gorseinon Centre. The training was arranged by ERW as part of the Attachment Aware Schools Project. The aim of the training was to promote understanding of brain development, the physiological and psychological reasons behind ‘challenging behaviour’ and the use of evidence-based strategies to enable regulation and emotional self-awareness through connectedness, empathy and guidance.

One participant observed ‘Thank you so much for making me reflect on my own practice. Courses like these are rare, and to (enable) full potential, we need to be able to reflect on our own practice first. Thank you for giving me some light bulb moments today. I’ve laughed, cried and reflected and that is the sign of an excellent course’.
