The Modern Foreign Languages Student Mentoring Project
Ten schools from ERW will participate in a project to raise the profile of modern foreign languages which received funding from Welsh Government as part of the Global Futures plan to reach pupils in rural parts of Wales.
The Modern Foreign Languages Student Mentoring project will place undergraduate students from Cardiff, Swansea, Bangor and Aberystwyth universities into schools to mentor pupils and encourage them to consider modern foreign languages when choosing their GCSE options.
Welsh Government have now included a new digital platform to extend its reach to schools and pupils who have not previously been able to engage with the project due to geographical location.
This is a significant step forward for the scheme, as it allows pupils in rural areas to connect digitally with the student mentors.
