Chinese Language Assistants

Up to 10 grants of £3,890 are being offered to cover the costs of hosting a Chinese language assistant for the academic year of 2017/18.

The grants are being given by the British Council and HSBC in a pilot scheme intended to support the sustainable development goal four to ensure inclusive and quality education for all and to promote lifelong learning.

Successful schools will have the full costs of hosting a Chinese language assistant from mid-September 2017 to the end of June 2018 covered.

Deadline for applications has been extended until Wednesday, May 31, for the grants which are available in Wales only.

These grants will enable up to three schools to share a fully-funded Chinese language assistant.

Hosting a language assistant can also support international partnerships and enable your school to apply for the Foundation International School Award.

If your school wishes to apply but is not part of a cluster, individual school applications will be accepted.
