A wide variety of data is collected by Welsh Government every year from all schools in Wales.

This data is collated and analysed by Welsh Government themselves as well as statisticians within ERW.

Schools in ERW will all get an individual data pack from the region containing information on their pupils as well as comparisons with their family and local authority.

Local Authority packs are available as well, and these can be found under the Performance Data tab on the left. A separate Categorisation tab is available for you containing specific information on this aspect.

Extra Information

Schools use DEWi (an online secure transfer system) to upload data to Welsh Government and can also view more detailed information on their school through the Core Data Sets, which Welsh Government publish annually.

Links to these can be obtained through the School Portal

A very useful website that Welsh Government have created to hold all their school information is My Local School. You can type in your postcode to view nearby schools, or simply type in a school of interest in the top right hand side search box. It should be pointed out that to ensure confidentiality, Welsh Government suppress any data based cohorts of less than five, and this is the reason if a school appears to have no data in any particular year.

For more information on schools and to compare data across Wales StatsWales is another Welsh Government source that can be used.
